Alcohol Testing

Drug Tests/Exams

Medical personnel review all screening results, certifying their accuracy, discovering permissible use of controlled substances, maintaining detailed records, responding to specific questions, and offering guidance. This allows organizations to align with their non-DOT policies and drug-free workplace commitments.

Our testing programs are applicable to both DOT and non-DOT standards and are used in any of these scenarios:

  • Reasonable suspicion

Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) rules are strictly adhered to in ordering drug and/or alcohol tests subsequent to accidents. They call for employers to administer alcohol testing as soon as feasible; best practice is within two hours and these tests should be done no later than eight hours from the time an accident occurred. The maximum elapsed time for a post-accident FMCSA drug exam is 32 hours.

Both lab-based and instant exams are available, with panels that include hair, saliva, and urine. Other testing services include breath alcohol, lift tests, physicals (both DOT and non-DOT), and wellness. Lab results have an average disclosure time of 48 hours.
